FASTER Shares Southern California Fire Resources - January 2025
We at FASTER are devastated to inform folks opening the New Year that our communities have been impacted by the fires in Southern California, from Palisades, Eaton and beyond.
I have created an aggregated (by no means complete) resource list based on posts by many local government, local community Filipinx American and Asian American national community organizations, FASTER members, and other local and national Filipinx American and Asian American community leaders who have provided critical information and news on some of the following:
Evacuations
Real time emergency alerts
Apps monitoring air quality
School closings
Locations of housing and shelter resources
Mental health resources
Food security (restaurants offering complimentary food for evacuees)
Animal shelters (large and small animals)
We anticipate many other fundraising links for those that are financially impacted by these incidents as many people have lost their homes as entire cities are devastated.

We also encourage folks to please post also on our FASTER Official National Facebook and FASTER Official National LinkedIn groups) for anything that is timely that cannot wait until a larger email which takes a bit longer to compile.
Personally, this hits very close to home, as Los Angeles and SoCal is like another second home to me and I dreamed of fires in 2020 that looked similar to the images I viewed in the news today. It is truly devastating and I am heartbroken seeing the loss of so many that have lots homes and loved ones due to this tragedy.
On behalf of FASTER National Leadership, we send our thoughts and prayers to those affected by this tragedy and hope you stay safe.
Sincerely,
Erin Jerri Malonzo Pañgilinan
FASTER Founder and National Board of Directors President
